DeCHELLIS
The Pennsylvania Basketball Website visits the Penn
State basketball practice. Website Editor, Bill Gaffey (left) visits with
Head Coach Ed DeChellis (right). Coach DeChellis and Bill Gaffey met years
ago when DeChellis was a Penn State Assistant and Gaffey was the coach at
Susquehanna Twp. in Harrisburg.
Coach DeChellis spent seven years as the head coach at East Tennessee State
University, where he was two-time Southern Conference Coach of the
Year.
And, now he has returned to Penn State and is committed to making Penn
State a basketball contender in the Big Ten Conference. It looks like
2007-2008 will be a turn-the-corner season.
JAMELLE
CORNLEY
The Centre Daily Times says,. "Jamelle figures to be a
solid second option after putting up 13.5 ppg and 6.7 rpg a year ago.
However, a bone bruise on his left knee kept him out of the first game. " Cornley
returned as a part time player against South Carolina on Thanksgiving Day.
Kurt
Kanaskie is
in his fourth year as assistant men's basketball coach at Penn State. Coach
Kanaskie comes to Penn State after spending seven years as the head coach at
Drake University in Iowa. Prior to his tenure at Drake, he was the head
coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Kurt is originally from Cumberland Valley High School in Central
Pennsylvania where he was an outstanding player.
Dan Earl played for Penn State and then played professionally in Europe before joining the Penn State basketball staff. He was an All-Big Ten player for the Nittany Lions in his playing days.

The night that the Pennsylvania Basketball Website visited practice, Coach Todd Shobert (pictured) from Purchase Line High School was visiting practice. If coaches want to attend a men’s Penn State practice they should call the basketball office and speak to Wendy.
