Last name First name School  Height  The Pennsylvania vs Maryland  All Star series enters its 17th year--It is the longest running all-star series featuring Pennsylvania and another state
In 1992, at Hersheypark Arena, Pennsylvania  defeated Maryland 128-93.  Rashaan Carlton (Susquehanna Twp and Penn State),  Zeffy Penn (Bishop McDevitt and Villanova), Matt Walker (Trinity and Mt. St. Marys), and Robert Tate (Harrisburg and the Minnesota Viking) led PA to the win in the very first game of this series.  The series was originated by Coach Tom Hendershot from Bowie Maryland and Coach Mike Gaffey from Palmyra.  Rick Hornberger from Northern Lebanon now serves as the Game Manager.  It has evolved  into a double header that features a game for both boys and girls and is a part of the Roundball Series of eight games over two weekends. Three games were held on Friday March 27 at Susquehanna Twp High School in Harrisburg and now five games are scheduled for Saturday April 4 at Steelton-Highspire High School in Steelton, PA.  These games are always attended by numerous college coaches because of the preponderance of seniors to be found at one place at one time.  And the games are held according to the NCAA regulations governing such contests.  According to NCAA rules, high school seniors may not play in more that two post-season all-star games.
