Palminteri  Reports

On October 18-19 2008, the Hoop Group held their annual Fall High School Showcase at Hoop Group Headquarters in Neptune NJ.  There were players from 12 high school teams involved, 11 Teams from the New Jersey area and Nico Palminteri, the chief scout for pahoops.org in the New Jersey area was there:

Top  (2011):

Isiah Morton - 5-foot-7 (St. Augustine Prep)
Quick as can be with good scoring instincts.

 Brandon Pascucci - 6-foot-2 (Lower Cape May)

Shot the lights out, very good handle and good play maker.
Charlie Monaghan - 6-foot-5 St. (Augustine Prep)
Knows how to play and competes extremely hard
Ernie Harper - 6-foot (Lower Cape May)
very quick, knows how to get to the rim.
Jarrelle Reischel - 6-foot-5 (Point Pleasant Beach)
Has the looks of a high major.

Heberto Guanipa - 6-foot-9 (St. Augustine Prep)
A new comer from Venezuela can hit the three with decent ball handling skills.
Kyle Cancillieri - 6-foot-5 (Middletown South)
Solid player with an over all good skill level.

 Patrick O'Connell - 5-foot-11 (Middletown South)
A skilled point guard that sees the floor well.
Tom McKeefery - 6-foot-6 (Lower Cape May)
A solid post Player, very athletic and can consistently hit a 15-foot jump shot.
Lance McKenzie - 5-foot-11 (Freehold Boro)
A quick point guard that has a good with floater.

 2008-09 season (2010) ADAM MARCUCCI of Washington Township High School,   (photo left) Sewell NJ Had an impressive 2009 season from beyond the arc draining over 70 three point shots. At times hitting 5 & 6 three point shots per game that helped bring the Minuteman to the  South Jersey Group Four Sectional Final game against Lenape High school.

Before Phog Allen, Adolf Rupp and John Wooden there was Professor Ernest Blood of Passaic, N.J., whose "Wonder Teams" still hold records. Prof Blood was the first great coach, but is largely overlooked by history.  Story, HERE

8-Rob MacFeeters, Haddonfield HS had 8 vs. Gateway 27 total in a 65-43 win
6-Sarah Batchelor set a Delsea single-game record with six three-point baskets, but the host Crusaders still needed a layup by Sarah Gardenhire with 1 second left to rally past Paul VI, 52-51, in a nonleague thriller.  (3/1/09, philly.com)
