The Pennsylvania Basketball Website does not agree with the NCAA, and sees no problem with the use of indian  nicknames.

3-Fifth in total population, Pennsylvania ranks number seven (7) out of the top ten states in overall "Indian" token usage.
4-Quick mascot facts on the State of Pennsylvania:

Shippensburg University changed its nickname from "Red Raiders" to "Raiders" and use a ship logo.
--In 1999, Indiana University of Pennsylvania changed its mascot to a bear but  strangely opted to retain its "Indians" nickname.
--Delaware Valley School District, near Milford, Pennsylvania, elects to keep its "Warriors" nickname but drops graphic associations to American Indians.

  Mascots create divisiveness on some campuses

Thirty schools in Divisions I, II and III were ordered by the NCAA to assess their use of Indian nicknames, mascots or logos and file reports by May 1. They'll be reviewed first by Vowels' committee, then by an NCAA executive committee subcommittee on gender and diversity issues and finally by the presidents and chancellors who sit on the full Executive Committee.
