Our Shootout prides itself on running on time according to the schedule.  This photo was taken at the Fall 2009 Shootout.  We have a full time photographer capturing the action and snapping  individual photos.

Andy Panko played in one of our events in 1995, then in 1997 he was selected as the Division III, Player of the Year by the Sporting News, and in January of 2001, he was signed by the Atlanta Hawks.

Gerry McNamara went to play his collegiate basketball in the Carrier Dome for the Syracuse Orangemen after a stellar career at Bishop Hannan in Scranton.  But he also attended two of our shootouts and helped attract over 50 college coaches to our Shootout in his senior year.

High school coaches from Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey work at our event.

We use certified PIAA officials at our events and our coaches make substitutions to provide equal playing time for all players.
Did you fill out an application and send it in for our big Fall event.

Over 500 invitations were sent out to colleges, universities and junior colleges for our event this fall.

The 1917-1918 NE Pennsylvania Champions
Hazelton to Illinois to California

We received an inquiry from Diana Vickery from Cicero Illinois who found this team picture an an antique store in Illinois.  The photo had the inscription "HHS NE Pennsylvania Champions, 1917-18."  The photo also had the names of the coach and players on the back.  We verified that it was Hazleton High School after examining copies of the Hazleton Plains Speaker  for November and December of 1917  that we found at the State Library in Harrisburg.  After we informed Diana, she found the coach's son living in California and is sending him the old photo which had lost its home.   More story and box scores posted HERE

Can you identify this team?
Left is an early 1900's postcard of the Hotel Power and Sanatorium in Conneautville, PA. And in the photo above, notice to the right of the team a sign pained on the window with a word ending in ...rium, suggesting that the team was posing here.  The team photo above had an inscription on the back "Conneautville, PA" and the photo was discovered by Diana Vickery from Cicero Illinois who last year found the photo of the 1917-18 Hazleton team.  Thanks to Diana for her contributions to Pennsylvania basketball history!!  But who were those guys above? What year?
