1970-
Bedford Inquirer/Everett Republican

(1/15/70)-The Chiefs remained undefeated in the Bedford County Independent Basketball League by defeating Standard 66-53.  In the other game, Teachers defeated Hedstrom 60-44.
Northern Bedford came alive in the fourth quarter to defeat Hyndman 68-63. John Williams had 20 for NBC and Rick Turner had 18 to lead Hyndman.
1971
Somerset Daily American
(2/27/71)-Rick Hostetler set a school record with 52 points when Rockwood defeated Somerset 97-44 in the final game of the 1971 season for both teams.
(3/17/71)-The Jaycee Cage League had seven teams that included: the Somerset Jaycees, Latshaw's Dairy, H.J Specht's, Beacon Truck, Coleman Co, White Cross, and Bender Implement.
(3/17/71)-Gene Koontz and Mike Wambaugh combined for 41 points to pace Bedford High School to a 61-56 win over Windber in the District 5 Class B Championship Game before 4,627 fans in the Cambria County War Memorial Arena.

1972-
Johnstown Tribune Democrat
(2/17/72)-As the season was nearing a close, Dennis Clark (Everett)  was leading Wayne Walter (Rockwood) in the Johnstown-Altoona scoring race.  Clark had 502 and Walter 468 with Clark coming off a 45 point outburst against Berlin-Brothersvalley.
(3/4/72)-Conemaugh Twp had a perfect 16-0 record to win the Somerset County Championship.  The Indians finished 18-6 overall.  Members of  the team: Tom Barkley, Doug Hostetler, Don Byer, Ron Hostetler, Dave Mishler, Bob Comiskey, Jeff Bruce, Dan Cable, George Miller, Bob Rullo, and Frank Smaila.  Joe Majer was the coach
(3/11/72)-Rockwood defeats Shanksville-Stoneycreek 64-53 in the  -PIAA District 5  Class C Championship Game  at Windber High School. Wayne Walter led Rockwood with 17 while Dan Evans led S-S with 20.

1975-
The Meyersdale Republican
(11/6/75)-The final standings in the Girl's County League: Conemaugh Twp (12-2), Meyersdale (11-3), Somerset (10-4), Shade (8-6), Shanksville (6-8), Salisbury (4-10), Berlin (3-11), Rockwood (2-12). (Note: in the 1970's many parts of Pennsylvania played the girl's schedule in the fall of the year).
(11/13/75)-The Meyersdale girls won the Meyersdale Jaycees Girl's Tournament by beating Berlin 44-30
