These are the male and female players from the Class of 2006 making the basketball news across the tri-state.  The players who have been added to this list will receive an invitation to the March 20th "Talent Evaluation" Shootout at Alvernia College in Reading, PA.  This event will be conducted according to NCAA guidelines.  Go HERE  for an application.   If we have overlooked a player on your team, please send the player's name, address and a line of information to wgaffey@pa.net

Watch List for Pennsylvania:
Amy Hendershot, a junior guard had a triple-double of 16 points, 15 steals and 11 rebounds powered Watsontown Christian to a 45-28  victory over Walnut Street Christian.
Jill DiNucci, a 5-foot-11 junior forward who averages 15 points per game for Shaler
Dan Sawl , Greensburg Central Catholic averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds last season.
Amy Johns, McKeesport, at 5' 9  scored 39 points against Sewickley Academy  and followed with another 39-point performance a night later against Duquesne.
Ashley Capozzolo. Bangor is on her way to becoming the school's all-time leader in 3-point baskets. Thursday, she tied the school record of 83, and she's just a junior.

Upper St. Clair

Brian Yoder's 25 points, including seven 3-pointers, lifted Lancaster Christian
Forward Dane Reighter pulled down 16 rebounds for Newport against Midd-West.
Upper Perkiomen nine from junior Shawn Hollister.

Michelle Metz, Pottsgrove added 15 points, two steals, two assists, two rebounds and a blocked shot
Upper Perkiomen received nine points from junior guard Shawn Hollister.
Jordan Shoop, Knoch is averaging 21.5 points per game this season. He's taking on more of a scoring role as a junior.
Junior Derek Rose, Johnstown scored 18 points and had 13 rebounds in a win over Altoona.
Junior guard Mike Roche and 6-3 junior  Dorin Dickerson are in the starting lineup at North Allegheny.
Junior Kenny Johnson came off the bench to score 15 points for Schenley.
Fox Chapel junior Lauren Cowher, daughter of Steelers coach Bill Cowher, had four 3-pointers and tallied 22 points to lead host Fox Chapel to a 43-36 win against North Hills

Blake Rubenstein came up big for Hatboro-Horsham, scoring 13 of his team-high 16 points after halftime, including a 3-pointer that put his team ahead for good at 60-59 with 27.7 seconds left in the game.
Junior guard Julie Utz  scored 10 points in a win for the Mars "Lady Planets"
Junior Tim Frye, back on the court following off-season knee surgery  scored a team high 17 points to lead the Mars attack.

Bishop O'Reilly junior center Josh Aciukewicz played the role of sleeping giant against Wyoming Valley West and was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
Loyalsock  Lancers Junior guard Alicia Engler
Junior guard Michelle Metz led Pottsgrove  with 13 points
Amber White, the junior point guard one of the brightest stars in the district, almost singlehandedly brought Coatesville the tournament title by pouring in a game-high 34 points for Coatesville but they fell to Parkland on Wednesday, 73-70.
Junior forward Stef Lorey  led the Titusville Lady Rockets last night with 24 against the North East Lady Grapepickers.
Antonio DiMaria, a 6-6 junior guard (Sewickley Academy), played four games before transferring to Bishop Canevin.
Junior guard Jordan Cleary (Serra Catholic) is a quality starter.
State College boys' basketball junior guard Mitch Rhyner
Trinity, 6'5" Brian Morris had 26 in overtime win over Susquehanna Twp.
Dan Lewis, the Penns Valley 6-foot-7 junior center was out with an ankle sprain.
Breann Hill, a junior from Bishop McDevitt, is the top scorer in the conference. She averages 22.7.
Junior guard Anna Cinelli (Pen Argyl) scored 17 points  and classmate Chelsea Due added a career-high 15 in a 51-48 win over Bangor.
Northampton jr. G Anna Sywensky has 29 3-pointers this season and 59 in her career.

Lancaster Catholic: Kyle Purvis averaged 12 per game for his 19-5 team
Katie Allport (Lancaster Catholic) scored 12 of her career-high 18 points in a Cocalico for a 71-61  win over Cocalico.

 Junior guard Jared Patt scored 50 points in Elkland’s two wins last week and is averaging 19.1 points per game
Eric Walters, Montoursville: The junior forward scored 24 points last Saturday against Montgomery, helping lead the Warriors to a 54-51 triple overtime win.
Brittany Knopp, Montgomery: The junior point guard scored  25 points against South Williamsport added a game-high 14 rebounds and has hit 20 of 21 free throws in her last two games.
Northwest  junior Matt Correll nailed three three-pointers in a 2:01 span to spark a 13-2 run

Junior forward Daenesha Edens had nine caroms and  Junior center Latrice White had six boards and a pair of blocked shots.
Junior forward Kaila Wiand (eight rebounds, two triples)  scored 13 for Spring-Ford
Vincentian Academy Junior point guard Jason Duty has scored 15.6 points per game and junior guards Zach MaKray and P.J. Pry have played much larger roles than expected.

Thomas Jefferson  is led by 5-foot-5 junior point guard Nikki Presto, a three-year starter who averages 12 points per game and 5-5 junior guard Erica Nath.
Penn Hills 5-3 junior Lyndsey Duell, Amanda Wallace, a 5-foot-5 junior point guard, and   Janie Killian, a 6-3 junior center, took advantage of her height to register 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocked shots.

,  junior guard Dan Fisher shot perfectly on the night - he went 4-for-4 from 2-point range, 2-for-2 on 3-point shots and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line en route to his team-high 16 points
Hatter junior Jess Romano  scored 21 points  to lead Hatboro-Horsham
Souderton junior guard Mike Connolly, who led all scorers with 16 points

Huber, a 5-8 junior forward, had eight rebounds and three assists.
West Perry,
one of the area's most versatile centers, 6-10 junior Justin Fry
Pocono Mt. East,
Junior Sheryl Priebe led the Cardinals with 11 rebounds, and  a game-high 22 points,
Catasauqua got its own dazzling performance from junior Daren Winch, who scored 25 points.
6-2 junior is Pequea Valley’s fast-rising star, Devon Mowday scored 47 points combined in league wins over Lampeter-Strasburg and Donegal. Those performances made him the New Era Player of the Week.
They couldn't contain 6-foot-9 center Andrew Ott, Germantown Academy who totaled 24 points and 11 rebounds.
Ryan  King Grove City, chosen Erie Times News "Fab 5," Kiser Classic MVP
Adam Highberger, a  6'1" point guard  is averaging 25 points a game and has help lead
 the  Blairsville Bobcats,  the highest scoring team in the state of Pennsylvania to a 17-0 start
Katie Wood, 5'11" Forward at Upper St Clair HS is averaging 13.5 pts per game, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists for her this season.
Mike Pasco from Our Lady of Lourdes in Coal Township, PA. scored 28 then 27 points in two games in one week with four three pointers in each game.
Junior center Dena Santoro led  Spring-Ford with 11 points, seven rebounds, two blocked shots and a steal.
Missing more than a quarter of playing time did not seem to hurt Mike Buckley much as he led Norristown with 18 points

Meggan Quinn, Red Lion, clipsed the 1000 point barrier earlier this season.  Has a high game of 35 points earlier this season.  Meggan recently made verbal commitment to play for Coach Rene Portland at Penn State.
Plymouth Whitemarsh (17-2)  Ronald Moore, 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting. The junior guard helped rescue PW from an early deficit
Erica DiClemente (6')became only the second Wissahickon girl to reach 1,000 career points as a junior,

Elco  scored 20 of the game's first 28 points. Junior forward Kathy Cook had10 points, including three treys in a win over Conestoga Valley.
Cocalico junior guard Nate Conway tied the game at 45-45 with a steal and fastbreak conversion with 4:25 left in regulation
Kate Walck, Hempfield's junior guard, led all scorers with 17 points, including 12 in the second half.
McCaskey juniors Leander Toney and Kevin Aguilera helped lead the victory over Catholic
Shikellamy: Junior guard Natalie Monroig led the Braves with 18 points and seven steals
"CJ Honigman hit a 3-pointer from the right side with three seconds remaining to give Hatboro-Horsham a 57-56 victory over Central Bucks South in a Suburban One One League Game".
Prep Charter won 86-62, Rodney Green 6-5 junior wing guard had a school-record 36 points.
St. Basil,  Christine McCollum, a junior, helped them control the boards with 13 rebounds
Whitney Williams, a Junior at Mt View H. S.(Kingsley) has 71 three pointers with a high of 8 in one game
Heather Scanlon, a key member of the this years Cardinal O'Hara team
Rachel Divosevic, North Allegheny leads in scoring and recently also sang the National Anthem prior to the game.  Have any other players done that this season?

Jefferson:  Junior forward Dedra Pritchard, possibly the county's most improved player. She is averaging 14.7 points.
Juniors Davina Yacab and Nadiera Sellers transfered to Paterson Eastside, Sellers, a 6-0 power forward, comes off the bench, while Yacab, a 5-7 guard, starts and scored 11 and 15 in victories against Clifton and Paterson Kennedy.
Rahway's standout junior swingman, 6-7 Earl Clark scored 12 of his 16 points in the first half on six-of-nine shooting.
