Class of 2017 (submitted by Dave Burman)
Nick Ramsey (Swatara MS) - Nick has a very good feel for
the game as a big guy. He can finish with both hands and has Kevin Love type
outlet passes, which is rare for a kid so young. Huge upside... His problem
is he has to develop more guard skills because there's no telling how tall
he'll be.....
Elyjah Camp (Harrisburg Marshall) - This kid has an old
soul for the game. He jumps into passing lanes, attacks the defense and can
dish to teammates as well... Had a good year on the Freshman team for
Harrisburg and has been playing well at Showcase's such as Nike Elite,
Adidas Phenom, and Hoop Group Jr. Elite in Philly.... If Elyjah can stay
focused on Books and Basketball, he can have a VERY BRIGHT FUTURE!!!
Brian Hall (Harrisburg Rowland) - Brian can jump out of the
gym and defend like a monster. He cleans up the offensive glass and creates
a mismatch inside. He's learning to put the ball on the floor which will
make him even more dangerous... Heck of an athlete...
Chris Whitaker (CD East MS) - Chris is a tough and very
confident guard who loves to win. He does whatever it takes to assure his
team gets a victory. He can score from the wing or from the pg position.
This kid has the ability to get triple doubles because of his all around
play. As long as he continues to work hard, he'll shine...
Tyrece Little (Emmanuel Baptist HS JV/Varsity) - Tyrece was
probably the most improve player over the past year. Known more for his
defensive aggressiveness, he's learning how to pick his spots on the floor
to create scoring opportunities. He can shoot the ball from the outside and
create plays for others. He had a big year for EBCA varsity team averaging
8ppg and 7rebs as a 7th grader... Had some nice showings at the Showcases
this Spring (Adidas Phenom, Nike Elite, Hoop Group Jr. Elite in Philly)....
Should have a strong year for a young team...
Evan Chandler (CD East MS) - Evan was the most aggressive
scorer in this group. He has a variety of moves getting to the basket. Once
he gets going, it's difficult to stop him. This kid is getting stronger and
stronger so by time he steps into HS, he'll be physically ready for HS
ball...
Chris Henderson (Steelton MS) - Chris is a warrior that any
coach would love to have. He plays at 110 mph and never takes a break. This
being only his 2nd year playing organized basketball, he has a big upside.
Chris finds a way to put points on the board. Look for him to play a little
guard this year for Steelton as he develops his game.....
Austin Gilbertson (St. Theresa's) - Austin is a flat out
ball player. He has a little flash in his game and knows how to get the job
done. Had a great summer playing with Brak Bred...
Darien Perez (Susquehanna) - Perez has improved every time
I watched his games.... He once once strictly an inside guy but now he's
worked on his perimeter skills.... He can defend tough and is a super
athlete... He may grow to be 6'4 so watch out for him in the near future...
Grey Hess (Cumberland Valley) - Grey has come on strong
this season and also this Spring.... He can shoot the ball from deep but he
is also attacking the basket very strong.... He'll end up being about 6'4 or
6'5 by time it's said and done.... CV has a good one here... Will have the
chance to play up this school year if needed...
Jermir (Moody) Thomas ( Susquehanna MS) - Was once an
undersized PF now he transformed into a nice WF..... He finds a way to be
effective inside and outside..... Moody can defend anyone from the 1 to the
4 position with his wing span. If he can grow to be a 6 footer, skies the
limit for him.
Justin Henry (CD East MS) - Justin is the most effective
little guard in this bunch. He always tend to hit big shots or get key
rebounds at the right time. Had a very good summer.... Justin is willing to
compete with anyone, gotta love that...
Jordan Gillis (Swatara MS) - Jordan has speed for days and
has really picked up his defense. Always known for shooting the basketball,
Jordan has now built a reputation of being a lock down defender after his
performance in the Keystone games last summer.....
Tito Flemister (Harrisburg) - Tito stock is rising... He
loves to compete and is getting better and better at the pg position... He
can shoot the ball just as well as anyone around.... Earned top playmaker at
5 star while also getting allstar Co MVP with Chris Whitaker
this summer...

Ahmir Wright (Harrisburg Downey) - Wright is a terror on
defense... He moves his feet well and works harder than anyone... Has a huge
upside because of his will to work hard.... He understands the game so it's a
matter of time before he jumps over other kids in his class...
Ben Green (Holy Name) - He's a fast guard who loves to score the ball
when given the chance. He can make plays for others but at this stage, he
prefers to create for himself. Very good scorer for his size.
Kentrell Rucker (Susquehanna) - One of the hardest working
kids in the area, Rell is always working on his game... Has very good timing
and jumps into passing lanes at the right time, all the time... He plays both
guards spots and is a very unselfish player... Had a great summer of
basketball and the best is yet to come...
Daron Jennings (Linglestown) - Daron had a great year for
Linglestown as he played both 7th and 8th grade ball... He should play
freshman ball this year because he can flat out compete.... He's a talented
forward who can put the ball on the floor, pass and finish around the
basket... Plays tough defense as well....
Julian Jackson (Swatara) - This kid was always known as a
project... Not anymore... His game is getting better and better by the day....
At 6'3 and a long wing span, he changes shots and attacks the glass with tons
of energy.... His upside is huge and he'll help CD East one day in a major
way...
Jon Baker (Cumberland Valley) - Jon came out of nowhere and
made a name for himself fast... He is a banger on the glass and has a very
high IQ for the game of basketball.... He can score inside or outside and he's
already 6'2... Very nice player...
Feb 19, 2012, The Dallas School District 7th grade girls finished
11-0, won the championship by 30 points, and outscored their opponents
347- 93 for the season.
