What is a Shootout?.............

-All players are put on teams of 8 or 9 players.
-Each team plays three games druing the day.
-All players are substituted according to a number system that gives all.players an equal amount of playing time.
-All teams play man-to-man defense.
-All teams play a simple 3 out, 2 under, motion offense.
-We don't shoot foul shots, they are taken out at the point nearest the..foul. This keeps the action moving since the Shootoutis designed so that.the college coaches canwatch the players play.
-We use officials for our Shootout unlike some other shootout .events.
-We only put 9 players or less on a team to ensure a rotation of players...during the day. Some events put ten players ona team and substitute five .players ata time. That does not allow for different combinations during .theday.
-Each player has a different number on their reversible, mesh jersey. ...Each college coach gets a packet that includes all the numbers, and .schedules for the day.Their packet also includes the home address for .each of the participants to make it easy for coaches to follow up with a .note to those players whom they think might be appropriate for their college basketball program.
